High Throughput Thin Film Materials Synthesis and Screening.

PEM Fuel Cell (hydrogen, reformate and direct methanol).

Hydrogen Storage Materials.

 

Activity and Expertise:

Surface science and surface electrochemical studies of catalyst systems.

Development of high throughput methods for synthesis, screening and characterisation of thin film materials.

Fundamental and practical development of anode and cathode catalysis, and interaction with ionomer in MEA.

·        EPSRC/JIF funded combinatorial synthesis and screening programmes.

·        Assistant Director of Combinatorial Chemistry Centre of Excellence.

·        PEM Catalyst development programme collaborating with Johnson Matthey.

·        PEM Catalyst development programme collaborating with General Motors.

·        Strong Departmental Collaborations with Dr.Andrea Russell (Catalyst Structure), Dr.John Owen (Solid State Electrochemistry and Measurement) and Professor Derek Pletcher (Electrochemistry).

·        DTI representative in International Energy Agency (IEA) task on Advanced Fuel Cells: PEMFC.
